How Pladis began their connected pack journey

Challenge

Pladis needed a scalable way to modernise packaging in a fast-moving, highly regulated category. They aimed to use QR codes to boost engagement and 1P data capture while preparing for GS1 Sunrise and HFSS requirements.

Approach

A centralised Connected Pack framework was introduced, integrating a global QR supplier with Mi-View360™ for consistent, efficient deployment. Brand teams focused on high-value regional use cases, supported by governance, playbooks and data-led reporting to ensure repeatable, high-quality execution across markets.

Business impact

Scale and engagement

Strong global rollout delivering high consumer interaction and media value.

Efficiency and cost reduction

Centralisation driving substantial operational and QR-related savings.

Data and future readiness

Significant uplift in 1P data capture and a solid foundation for accessible and future digital packaging innovation.
Multiple packets of McVitie’s biscuits are stacked and lined up next to each other against a dark green background. On the left, there are three boxes of Jaffa Cakes stacked on top of each other. In the middle, there are two packets of Hobnobs and on the right, there are two packets of Digestives. All of the packets are of different flavours.
