A platform built for connected products cannot stand still, because the environment around those products does not stand still either.
What brands need from connected packaging is changing.
Consumer-facing digital experiences remain important, but they increasingly sit alongside requirements around structured product information, accessibility, identification, governance, changing regulation and the transition towards next-generation two-dimensional barcodes. The result is that connected packaging is becoming less of a channel and more of a business capability.
Mi-View360 continues to evolve with that environment. Currently used by our clients as the technology layer supporting governed workflows, product information, accessibility and connected-product performance, it is more than simply the creation of codes. That development sits alongside our consulting and delivery work with brands implementing connected packaging at scale.
The latest milestone in that evolution is GS1 UK Approved status for Mi-View360 version 2.6.0.
Approval was granted on 1 July 2026 after GS1 UK assessed the product and found it capable of supporting applicable GS1 standards. The public report documents capabilities around GTINs, GS1 Application Identifiers, QR codes powered by GS1 and GS1 Digital Link, including Digital Link URI generation/use, sub-domain redirects and URI syntax using a brand’s own domain or sub-domain.
These are increasingly relevant building blocks.
GS1 Digital Link makes it possible to express established GS1 identifiers in a web-compatible structure, connecting the identity used around the product ecosystem with digital information. GS1’s broader two-dimensional barcode programme is now taking that concept further into mainstream retail infrastructure.
For CEC, GS1 UK approval represents an important independent validation of Mi-View360’s development and the capabilities built into the platform.
It confirms that the assessed capabilities support applicable GS1 standards and strengthens the foundation for Mi-View360 as connected product requirements continue to evolve.
That evolution continues. As brands bring together product data, connected systems, governance and consumer-facing experiences, successful implementation depends on more than technology alone.
Our focus remains on helping brands put the right technology, governance and operating model around those standards so that connected products can work reliably at scale.
