The EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) and GS1 Sunrise 2027 are set to transform the landscape of consumer-packaged goods (CPGs), retail, and manufacturing. No longer optional, these regulatory shifts are creating a new baseline where transparency, traceability, and data accessibility are non-negotiable.
From 2027, every product will require a globally standardised digital identity – a QR code with GS1 digital link, turning packaging into a live channel of compliance, intelligence, and consumer trust. Far from being a burden, these frameworks are expected to unlock innovation: streamlining supply chains, powering sustainability goals, and enabling brands to offer richer consumer experiences through accessible, verifiable data.
CEC will be running the next study in our series of CEC Foresight Sessions, to address key questions:
- What are the compliance requirements and timelines for DPP and Sunrise 2027?
- How can businesses turn regulatory readiness into a competitive advantage?
- What role will accessibility, interoperability, and AI play in making compliance future-proof?
- How can early movers leverage compliance as a growth driver rather than a cost centre?
To help organisations prepare, the CEC DPP & Sunrise 2027 Foresight Session includes:
- Onboarding Call – Align with the CEC team on goals, scope, and compliance readiness.
- Virtual Roundtable – Engage with peers and regulators to share strategies and challenges.
- DPP & Sunrise 2027 Report – A strategic foresight guide mapping the regulatory roadmap and growth opportunities.
